create.explore.discover brings together a diverse group of women, from working artists to weekend explorers, to moms looking to uncover their creative spark. Retreat leader, Sarah Stevenson will guide you through the weekend as you take part in engaging, creative sessions where you will explore various mediums
No matter your skill – or comfort – level, create.explore.discover is a safe space for experimenting and trying out new projects. If you don’t currently identify as a creative individual, you will surprise yourself by the end of the retreat. If creativity is a part of your daily life, you will leave create.explore.discover energized and brimming with ideas for your next project.
create.explore.discover retreats are limited in size to provide you with the
opportunity to form lasting bonds with both your instructors and your
fellow explorers. In the evenings, participants and instructors gather to make new
friends that will inspire and encourage your artistic journey.
create.explore.discover is focused on guided hands-on projects and personal interaction with experienced artist-instructors.
During the day retreats, in April and September, participants begin the day with a special welcome and “art-awakening” session. You will then delve into a single-medium series of classes – exploring the ins-and-out with an expert. Beginners and advanced students alike will discover new techniques and unearth their own personal style. Following your day of creativity, participants and instructors will relax and unwind with an artists reception and discussion-in-the-round to help participants reflect and appreciate the time spent on THEMSELVES.
During the weekend retreat each participant experiences three unique guided art and creativity workshops, exploring the various art forms and media. The retreat kicks off on Friday evening with a welcome dinner with fellow participants and instructors. Saturday and Sunday mornings begin with a special “art-awakening” session before your day of classes. On Saturday, an artists reception and discussion-in-the-round completes the first day of activities, with time to enjoy an evening meal in the historic Lake Tahoe town of Truckee, California. Sunday begins anew with a final workshop to complete your creative journey.
