student work by Wendy. stitching.... from the left: Sarah Stevenson, (founder create explore discover art retreats); Liz Kalloch, Denice Barlow Brown and Marisa Anne. thank you to our incredible venue for all the meals, wonderfully relaxing rooms and for taking such good care of us...we can't wait to come back next year.... Sunday Tahoe tour - Squaw Valley Sunset over Lake Tahoe - a perfect ending to a perfect weekend...... Reflections on the retreat: "creativity is so personal" that only you can define what it truly means for yourself. Create Explore Discover is a place where you can explore what that definition is for yourself. You do not have to have an art background or any art experience for that matter in order to join us in that exploration. The main desire is for a person to come with an open mind, ready to try something new and to explore a different level of themselves in the process. There were many "wow" moments during the weekend and many moments of connection to one another as human beings and as women. There were moments of laughter and tears,  and moments of pure joy and satisfaction. 15 women coming together that may not have had a connection before or for most of us a connection that was strengthened even more by being together. New friendships developed and an admiration for everyone's story. For me the most valuable part was the sharing and openness and the connection to life long friendships that I will value and hold dear forever. Thank you to everyone that took a chance and joined me on this inaugural journey I value your friendships and your creativity more than you will ever know. Please join me next year from October 12-14, 2012 at the Cedar House Sport Hotel for the 2nd Annual Create Explore Discover Art Retreat--I can't wait to share with you.....

Judging from your previous posts about this retreat it looked to be a fun and rewarding experience. And the location…how beautiful!
