Today I am excited to share our 3rd instructor for this years create.explore.discover art retreat: Andrea Jenkins. Andrea and I met a few years ago when my friend Jen and I took a Polaroid photography class from her at Tea House Studio in Berkeley. Her knowledge about Polaroid Cameras, the history behind them and how to use them in your own photography is so extensive that one session with her only touches the surface but will excite you enough to grow your own love for this dying art. In addition to 2 sessions called Instant Magic, Andrea will also be teaching a basic photography class, called Five for Five to help get you started with your camera, iphone, film camera or Polaroid camera.

A little about Andrea:

“Andrea Corrona Jenkins is a photographer, writer, (modern) dancer and teacher who lives with her husband and two children in Portland, Oregon.
For fifteen years, Andrea worked with the nationally recognized arts development program Moving In The Spirit, where she taught dance in after-school programs and youth shelters in Atlanta, Georgia’s inner city and served as the director of their highly acclaimed Stepping Stones program.
These days, you can find her teaching instant photography workshops to kids and adults alike in cities across the globe– from San Francisco, California to Gjilan, Kosovo.
Most recently, Andrea shared her love of photography with a room packed full of excited french teenagers at the Tedx Boulogne-Billiancourt event just outside Paris, France. Her work has been exhibited in numerous shows, including the Impossible Project’s ‘Outside the Lines’ in New York in 2011 and Rare Device’s ‘Instant Noun’ in San Francisco in 2013. Andrea is also a writer and core contributor for the ever popular UPPERCASE magazine and can be found (most days) over on her blog, Hula Seventy.”
