six weeks of creating week 4

September 08, 2010

Design is about making things good (and then better) and right (and fantastic) for the people who use and encounter them.

Week 4 of Six Weeks of Creating….This week a little departure from making a piece of art and moving into the realm of actually creating something in your life or your home. I chose to redo a room in my house. My son and I chose to pull an extreme makeover home edition room makeover for my “tween” daughter. In 24 hours we cleared 12 bags of garbage and 9 boxes of “baby” toys from the room and restyled from a flower and whimsical style to a new look and feel that will bring her into her teen years…….here are the results……..

sources: pbteen, land of nod, uglydolls, american girl, room and board , anthropologie and antiques from my own collection…

Hope you enjoy…have a great Wednesday…….
