This past weekend I was involved in the Reno Mini Maker Faire. This was a collaborative event between Ashley Jennings of GirlMade, EDAWN, The City of Reno, Chrissy Klenke of The DeLaMare Science and Engineering Library at University of Nevada-Reno and many volunteers and local businesses. My responsibility was first to help secure makers and exhibitors for the event and then to coordinate their setup and participation in the fair.
I have to say that through all my collaborations that this has been one of the most well run, well coordinated and most enjoyable events I have been a part of. Everyone on our team took their jobs on with so much enthusiasm and excitement that it was easy to be a part of the group. I’ll be sharing some of my photos throughout the week, but just wanted to say a special thank you to Ashley, Chrissy, Sue-Ting, and Brian for making me feel a part of something that I am sure is going to be a yearly tradition for our city.
It was a pleasure working with everyone on the team, the makers and exhibitors and all the volunteers that came out to help on Saturday. I look forward to working with you all again for next year (of course if you will have me back?)
Have a great Monday everyone!
