august break 2014: drink

August 20, 2014

Processed with VSCOcam with x4 preset {drink}

A boy turning into a man…my thoughts when I captured this photo. At first I wanted just the drink and then he started playing and covering up the mug with his phone. All of a sudden it struck me…his hands around the mug, him growing and getting ready to leave the nest…I had to capture the I slowed us down and reminded myself of when he was younger…this will forever be one of my favorite moments captured…he made me smile, he always does and he reminded me to slow down and take in the moment not just capture an image. I had him put his hands around the mug just like he would when he was about to drink from it and we stopped for a moment in time and gathered the story.

I hope I can capture the story this year in this way. He will be going to college soon and I want so badly to remember his movements and funny words and laughter.
