100 wednesdays – january 9, 2013

Last week, I began a year long project to coincide with 100 wednesdays. It is called 2013: Year of the Giraffe and it is being taught by Carla Sonheim, one of my most favorite illustrators and artists. I have followed her work for a long time and was looking for a project that would help me with my drawing, sketching and illustrating skills. Each month, Carla gives you a basic outline of the project for the month and you interpret it however it works for you as long as you are drawing giraffes. My goal this month is to fill a moleskine notebook with giraffe sketches using just a pencil, and three sizes of pitt pens. Here are some of my favorites so far:
